In this example, I was asked to design and build a porcelain paved area suitable for an outdoor sauna and ice bath, framed with contrasting composite decking all around the recently built garden room.
This gate was in need of replacing or restoring; my clients opted for the latter, and I was tasked with repairing the rotting areas, applying x3 coats of good quality woodstain, and repainting the ironwork, providing many more years of use!
My clients had recently got a new dog, and I was tasked with installing a venetian style fence above the existing wall to enclose the garden.
These shelves and fitted cupboards made such a difference to this living room, making a real feature around the fireplace.
Having previously repointed their patio, the owners of this garden asked me to replace the sides of their raised beds. They were very happy with my suggestion of using timber sleepers, and they really stand out against the colour of the patio slabs.
In this example, I was tasked with removing the dark woodstain from the front door, followed by the application of Osmo oil. The project also included installing a new brass letter plate and a french style house number plaque.
This was a passageway that my clients asked me to close off with a feather edge timber fence, complete with a large gap at the bottom for their resident hedgehogs to come and go!
Here is an example of a bespoke key clamp handrail, fixed to the concrete slab and brickwork with resin anchors.
Having previously installed a new path at this local hotel, I was asked to return to install a picket fence and gate in between the existing posts.
After showing me some damage that had been made to their engineered bamboo flooring, my client asked if there was anything I could do. Fortunately, she had some spare planks from when the floor was installed a few years prior. It wasn’t a straightforward process as the flooring had been glued down and had tongue and groove joints. I was able to carefully cut through the tongues between them and gradually lift the affected planks. I cut the new planks to fit, glued them in position, and my customer was very pleased with the outcome!
This customer’s porch was in desperate need of repainting. After treating the resinous knots and rubbing down, I applied 3 coats of satin white paint, which has really freshened it up!
A few of the hardwood window sills in my client’s home had become badly marked and stained. After sanding back, I applied an Osmo oil, and they now look as good as new!
At this hotel in Brockenhurst, I was asked to replace the dilapidated path with a concrete slabbed path to make it much easier for their trolleys of laundry to be collected and delivered.

Here is an example of a wide garden gate I installed, along with a gate lock with a thumb turn on the garden side, and a key operated lock on the external side.
My clients had recently had a new front door installed, so asked me to replace the tiled doorstep with porcelain tiles which went really well with the colour of their new door.
This existing garden gate was beyond repair, so I fitted a replacement good quality pressure treated timber gate, hinged on the opposite side as the post was out of plumb.
The original felt on this shed was in need of renewing as it was starting to let in rain where it had torn. I removed it and fitted a high quality felt which should last around 15 years.
The joints within this Indian sandstone patio had deteriorated and some slabs had started to become loose. Firstly, I cleaned the patio with a pressure washer, then carefully removed the joints, relaid some slabs which were found to be loose, then repointed with a sand and cement mortar mix. The natural colours now stand out really well, particularly when wet.
In this example, my clients wanted to extend their existing patio in a curved design with similar riven slabs, but in a contrasting colour. I also pressure washed and repointed the existing section which came up really well and gave the whole area a new lease of life!
The weeds had taken over in the joints of this patio! I removed the weeds and cut out the old mortar, thoroughly cleaned out the open joints with a vacuum cleaner and blower, then repointed with a sand and cement mix. My clients were very pleased with the outcome.

In this garden, my customer wanted the area of concrete in front of their log store replaced with paving slabs, and I pressure washed and repointed the existing patio which made a big difference. It now looks almost as good as new!
One of my commercial clients asked me to carry out some improvements to this bin store at an apartment block. The residents were having an issue with tree sap falling onto the bins making them sticky, so I constructed a timber framework over the top in order to create a roof using clear corrugated polycarbonate sheets. As the doors were dragging on the ground, I also lifted the doors and fitted heavier duty hinges.
I was asked by the owners of this garden to re-landscape their garden to make it easier to maintain. The project included a newly gravelled driveway, circular patio, new steps, edging slabs, planting, a new section of fence and I installed a timber sleeper border beside the hedge.
In this garden, I lifted and relaid the paving slabs to create a solid base, then assembled a new timber shed, fitted guttering and a waterbutt, and finished it off by painting it in a colour scheme chosen by my client.
I was asked to replace this fence which had suffered in strong winds. I replaced it with feather edge fencing which is now considerably stronger!
This garage door hadn’t been painted for many years, so after stripping the paint and applying a primer and 2 new coats of paint, it made quite a difference!
The trellis on top of this wall had become dilapidated so my client asked me to replace it with a new section of fence to create a solid screen.
Here I was asked to install a slabbed path with gravel edging at the side of the property.
After demolishing an old brick built raised bed, I constructed a replacement raised bed with garden sleepers using the lowest course of bricks as a level base.
Here is another example of a raised bed, this time constructed from treated scaffold boards fixed to timber posts which were concreted into the ground.
This project involved creating new garden paths, and also replacing sections of a decking which had rotted away.

I carefully removed the old mortar and then repointed this crazy paving patio.
In this hallway I fitted oak engineered wood flooring with oak trim around the edges to cover the expansion gap.
This fence got blown over in high winds. To repair the fence I installed concrete repair spurs and bolted them to the fence posts.
In this garden I made a large unused border much easier to maintain by putting down weed membrane and covering with 4 tonnes of gravel. It now looks a lot smarter too!
I replaced the roofing felt on this shed in addition to replacing part of the timber roof which was rotten.
I removed the Ivy growing up the front of this property and also dug out the roots to prevent it from growing back.
I repainted the external walls on this Farmhouse which made a big difference!
In this garden I dug over the old lawn, created a new gravel path, laid a new turf lawn and planted up the new borders including a lavender hedge around the edges of the lawn. Finally I painted the fence a pale shade of grey which softened the boundary.
I was asked to build a wooden subfloor in this under stairs cupboard following the installation of a new gas meter.
This walled flowerbed had unfortunately been damaged by weeds. After removing the weeds, and more importantly the roots, I removed the broken bricks and rebuilt the top of the wall.
The owners of this house asked me to pressure wash their 10 year old block paved driveway. They were very pleased with the end result as it now matches the new block paved area shown in the far left of the photo.
After cleaning the decking area in front of the owner's summerhouse using my pressure washer, I painted 2 coats of decking stain which has made a great improvement.

The front garden of this cottage was transformed by removing the paving slabs and hardcore, adding 4 tonnes of topsoil, laying turf and planting a range of plants to suit the property.
The lean-to area of this bungalow was very tired and in need of some repairs. I replaced the corrugated roofing panels, painted the timber framework, painted the walls and finally added Cotswold chippings which not only made the space look more modern, but is also practical as the stones are suitable for areas with a high footfall.
